On track to breaking the world record. Officially cleared 120!

October 27, 2012

A little while ago I made the goal public: By June 2013, I intend on breaking the world record for most amount of push-ups in 60 seconds. My previous max and NCAA record for my university was 119 that I set back in 2003.

As of today, I’ve not only matched my old record, but topped it for the first time ever, with 124! 5 more push-ups might not seem like much, but on the goal to achieving at least 140 (to beat the record of 139 by at least 1), I’m getting closer.

Thanks to all of you that have been rooting me on!

That’s awesome Paul! Was it hard?

It definitely is challenging getting that one to a few more than the previous number you set. While you’re doing them, you just go for broke and see what happens, but like with most things, extra practice pays off. I still have a good ways to go, but I also do have a decent chunk of time to do so…so who knows, I might actually pull it off!

great work paul, its really impressive that you are doing better than when you were in your college years. If you don’t mind me asking, how old were you when you set the record and how old are you now?

Thanks a lot! I was 19 back then and am 29 now. It’ll be a full decade later, in early 2013.
