5) Nintendo 3DS – 22

This is the week we were waiting for! Pikmin 4 came out and had the strongest opening in the series’ 22 year history. Over 400,000 physical units were sold and when combined with all territories around the world (digital included), the game in just three days outsold every other Pikmin game. Another interesting fact is that Pikmin 4 in three days, outsold Final Fantasy XVI’s 4.5 weeks.

In hardware, PlayStation 5 had a solid week and is now less than 7,000 units away from clearing 4 million in Japan, with Nintendo Switch at #1, and less than 5,000 from selling 30 million in the country. Here’s to more strong sales the rest of summer. See you next week!
