During the mid 2000’s, Shu Tanaka served as one of Capcom’s main licensing managers and was responsible for the launch of “Street Fighter Month” in October, 2005.

E3 2005: Shu Tanaka and Paul Gale

Shu was devoted to keeping the Street Fighter series strong when there was an absence in the series’ actual game releases, by ensuring that things like SF comics, figurines, and more were all handled and promoted with precision. I first met Shu at E3 2005 when my friend Taki Enomoto at Capcom introduced us in the company’s meetings room. There, Shu and the rest of the gang at Capcom showed me plenty of great things that would come out throughout the next year from them.

Mr. Tanaka is very professional and has a liking for Capcom’s devoted fanbase, always giving credit and admiration for those that support the company. Thank you for being a friend and keeping in contact over the years, Shu. Even though you’ve moved on to other things, your existing work will always be appreciated.
