Mark Bozon these days is the Reviews Editor for the newly relaunched Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine, but for 5 years (2005-February, 2010) he was an associate editor of the IGN Nintendo team. Being involved at IGN for a number of years really gave Mark an audience and with that audience came a fanbase.

I first met Mark at the E for All Expo in 2007 while we were talking with Nintendo’s reps about Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He was with Matt Cassamassina, whom I’ve known for a few years already and that’s how Mark and I got introduced. A big video game fan, an outspoken journalist with a comedic personality, and a very cool, real person…that’s what comes to mind when I think of Mark Bozon.

I caught up with Mark a couple of years later at E3 2009 and actually ended up bumping into eachother several times throughout the three days. High Voltage Software’s Grinder/The Conduit area, Microsoft’s booth on a few occassions, and where these pictures are taken: Nintendo’s Sin and Punishment 2 section. Mark still had the same type of humor I expected (as you can tell in the pictures) and I was also happy to see him slimmed down. One of the ways I kept in contact was through giving him some personal training advice, since I’m also a personal trainer outside of the video game industry and with all of his Wii Fit efforts, he lost a good amount of weight. I wish Mark the best of success in his future work at EGM and whatever else he may do…including possible future projects with WayForward Technologies (where he was a designer on WiiWare game, LIT). Thanks for being a cool guy!
