Here is the best selling software and hardware in Japan, for the week of June 26th – July 2nd courtesy Famitsu.

Software:

1) Master Detective Archives: Rain Code (NS) – 55,339
2) Final Fantasy XVI (PS5) – 336,027
3) The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (NS) – 25,155
4) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (NS) – 10,244
5) Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective (NS) – 8,373
6) 9 R.I.P. (NS) – 8,080
7) Minecraft (NS) – 7.241
8) Nintendo Switch Sports (NS) – 6,925
9) Tokyo Xanadu Ex+ (NS) – 5,845
10) Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (NS) – 5,341

Hardware:

1) Nintendo Switch – 106,214
2) PlayStation 5 – 49,294
3) PlayStation 4 – 2,093
4) Xbox Series – 971
5) Nintendo 3DS – 40

The best selling software of the week was Rain Code for Nintendo Switch, which with digital sales, had a near 100k debut. Last week’s #1 title, Final Fantasy XVI, had a massive 89% drop, putting it only 11,000 units above The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (which is actually on the rise). It’s looking likely that Zelda and FF16 will swap places next week.

In hardware, Nintendo Switch had another stellar week…in fact, once again topping what the console did this past session. NS is now only 262,969 units away from matching what it did in 2022, years aligned. Meanwhile, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series had quite significant drops (particularly the latter). See you next week!
