Here is the best selling software and hardware in Japan, for the week of March 6th – March 12th, 2023 courtesy Famitsu.

Software:

1) Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe (NS) – 32,132
2) Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet (NS) – 20,889
3) Splatoon 3 (NS) – 15,861
4) Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse (NS) – 10,712
5) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (NS) – 10,430
6) Ib (NS) – 9,080
7) Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse (PS4) – 9,031
8) Hogwarts Legacy (PS5) – 9,017
9) Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty (PS5) – 8,411
10) Octopath Traveler II (NS) – 7,739

Hardware:

1) PlayStation 5 – 64,869
2) Nintendo Switch – 59,901
3) Xbox Series – 2,887
4) PlayStation 4 – 1,602
5) Nintendo 3DS – 97

The software charts this week saw Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe continue its first place position and the debut of both Ib and Fatal Frame. Nothing in particular sold tremendously well, but it’s worth mentioning that the pair of Pokémon games are just little over 70,000 copies a way from selling 5 million, physically, in Japan.

In hardware, PlayStation 5 narrowly beat Nintendo Switch and their year-to-date totals are now 744,592 and 775,570, respectively. Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon comes out on March 17th, so keep an eye out for that one in next week’s charts. See you then!
