This was a pretty notable week in software, as a number of new releases made it into the Top 10. Kirby’s game charted nicely, performing better than its Wii counterpart during its debut weekend and Octopath Traveler II sold nearly 70,000 copies between its two versions, with the entry on Nintendo Switch occupying the majority of sales.

In hardware, both PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch performed very well, with the former, taking the top spot. Now for 2023 in Japan, the gap between NS and PS5 is less than 48,000 with Nintendo Switch being the one that’s ahead. In the charts we get next time, we’ll see how Metroid Prime Remastered performed, so stay tuned for that. See you next week!
