Here is the best selling software and hardware in Japan, for the week of October 10th – October 16th, courtesy Famitsu.

Software:

1) Splatoon 3 (NS) – 97,071
2) Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Offline (NS) – 11,145
3) NieR: Atomata – The End of YoRHA Edition (NS) – 9,672
4) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (NS) – 7,337
5) Minecraft (NS) – 6,941
6) Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival (NS) – 5,685
7) Dragon Ball: The Breakers – Special Edition (NS) – 5,312
8) Nintendo Switch Sports (NS) – 4,609
9) Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (NS) – 3,856
10) Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Offline (PS4) – 3,697

Hardware:

1) Nintendo Switch – 43,329
2) PlayStation 5 – 20,297
3) Xbox Series – 3,551
4) Nintendo 3DS – 113
5) PlayStation 4 – 11

Splatoon 3 remained the top selling game of the week and will likely hold onto that spot for the charts ending October 23rd, because unlike in other parts of the world, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is coming out in Japan on December 2nd. Dragon Ball was the one new piece of software that debuted in the top ten, with a low performance.

This week saw quite a drop in Nintendo Switch hardware, but that is largely due to stock shortages and anticipation for the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet Nintendo Switch OLED model which comes out on November 4th.

See you next week!
