Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Celebration on Paul Gale Network
Happy 25th Anniversary, Street Fighter!

Today, on August 30th, 2012, Capcom’s iconic Street Fighter series officially turns 25 years old and Paul Gale Network would just like to wish it a very Happy Birthday. I’ve been a fan of Street Fighter since it first hit arcades, really embraced it with everything I had when Street Fighter II debuted (fond memories of me getting off from my Tae Kwon Do practice and heading to 7-11 to play), hopped on board with every sequel, supported the entire Alpha series, was an original fan of the direction that was taken with Street Fighter III, even played the movie and EX games, and most recently proved to be such a fan that Capcom even put me in Street Fighter IV as a character in the background.

Street Fighter really is one of my all time favorite properties and even with all of its versus games, I’ll never grow tired of throwing a Hadouken. In fact, my test with each new controller and handheld that I hold, usually at E3 before they see a release, is the Street Fighter test: how well can I pull of Hadoukens, ShoRyuKens, and so on (lots of rolling motions on the d-pad or analog stick).

It’s just been such an influential series over the years and to this day continues to truly deliver fun and excitement. It took Capcom a long time to count from 2 to 3 and an even longer time to count from 3 to 4. I sincerely hope that we get a Street Fighter V before the series turns 30…and I have a good reason to believe that that very wish of mine will come true.

Here’s to 25 more years of Street Fighter to come. Hadouken for Life!

Thank you, Capcom.
