Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes (Large)
The Metal Gear series turns 25 in 2012 and what better way to celebrate than with the announcement of a new movie in the pipeline that will be produced by Avi Arad (X-Men, Iron Man, The Amazing Spider-Man) and be made in association with Columbia Pictures.
Perhaps the only thing better is also the announcement that Konami has a new game in development called “Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes”, in which the artwork above represents one Big Boss (check out the eye patch). The game was literally just shown at Konami’s Metal Gear 25th Anniversary event, is using the new FOX Engine and looking amazing. Thanks John for being in Japan for the event, providing the first artwork, and news.
Though not allowed to take pictures or reveal much outside of what he saw, what can be confirmed is that it is an open-world game, was demoed on a current-gen PC (so the game will presumably be made available for Xbox 360/PlayStation 3/PC/Wii U), took place in real time in the night, with some incredible rain effects, Big Boss killing a guard, getting into some vehicle and helicopter action, and overall feeling very much grounded in the Metal Gear world, but with a much larger scope.
I personally haven’t seen anything aside from the artwork, up above. Here’s to more Metal Gear news and a Very Happy 25th Anniversary to Metal Gear. Konami, you’ve made an outstanding franchise and one that’s been up there at the top of my list for many years now. Thank you.
I can’t wait. =D
[…] Today at PAX we got a nice 11 minute trailer of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes as a follow-up to the story Paul Gale Network ran two days ago. […]
