This shouldn’t come as a big surprise and in fact, many who read this will probably say, “no duh”, but I recently was revealed a morsel of information from a trusted source, saying that Nintendo is currently in development of a “3D Mario game” for Wii U, in addition to New Super Mario Bros. U.

The strategy in effect is to launch New Super Mario Bros. U this year and follow up with a new 3D roaming Mario adventure in “tentative 2013”. It makes sense too, because it’s what Nintendo did with the one-two punch of New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Super Mario Galaxy 2…only the gap between these two Wii U Mario games is going to be longer than the 6 months that the pair’s predecessors had between each other.

I don’t have any other information at this time and this news doesn’t quite come as a shocker, but it’s still nice to actually know, nonetheless. If Paul Gale Network does receive any update, you’ll know about it.

  1. I seriously wonder if they can top Galaxy 2. That’s the best Mario game of all time if you ask me. The amount of different gameplay mechanics and variation makes this one of the only games I would ever rate 10/10.
