Tony Hawk: Shred was released in October, 2010 and since the game didn’t satisfy Activision’s expectations, they’re holding off on releasing a new title in the series this year. Not only will it be the first time since 1999 that a new Hawk title won’t make a calendar appearance, but it will hopefully give the developers enough time to really put something fresh together. The next outing the series will see is sometime in 2012. Furthermore, I’ve received a bit of news from a buddy at Activision, saying that we’ll see the first teaser trailer at E3 in June. I’m happy to hear that a new game is in the works, but even happier to know that it’s getting nearly 2 years in development. It’s hard to keep a game current and hot when it sees a new installment, every single year. Hopefully this break is what the series needs.
