Metroid: Other M
Metroid: Other M hits United States on August 31st.

Artist Ryo Iwai has been creating awesome video game art pieces for years now, but today might be his best work yet with his drawing of Samus Aran from Metroid fame. His take on Samus also seems to be based off of her most recent look in Metroid: Other M.

Good job, Ryo. Check out the larger version of Samus to really appreciate the detail.

This piece of art comes at a good time too, because Samus’ next game is just a few weeks away. I’m impressed and hope that Iwai continues to draw more brilliant pieces in the future.

  1. The detail is amazing. I could easily call this the best Metroid art currently known to man kind. The only problem I see is too minor to even notice at first and doesn’t even take away from the epic design; the front of the gun needs to be detailed for when she changes to use her missiles. But like I said, it is a minor flaw, for all I care the missiles can be made smaller so they will fit out the front :)!
I give the artist a 20 out of 10 for all the detail on this suit 🙂
And thank you for posting this masterpiece on your page!

The arm gun(or arm cannon, which ever way your use to calling it) in fan art is often the most flawed part of the artwork, because it is either way too short, ridiculously fat, too skinny or a combination of the three. In all the Metroid games, if you pay attention, her arm gun takes up her entire forearm(plus fist) has about 8 inches(21cm) of length(Z) after her fist, and is about 2/15(7cm)wide(X,Y).
