Media Create updates their sales data every Friday (Japan Standard Time).
Media Create has today updated the sales of software in Japan, from July 26th to August 1st. Media Create is a company in Japan that gathers and analyzes data from various sectors of the digital entertainment industry. They’re known especially for having an emphasis on weekly video game sales, and their main competition is Enterbrain’s Famitsu and MediaWorks’ Dengeki (two other popular Japanese data trackers). Since no one source is 100% accurate, I pull in data from multiple companies to try and get the best possible, overall view.
To better understand this chart as a whole, the first number represents what place the game is in for the week and the second number shows what that title was last week. If a game is NEW, it’s last week’s number is 00.
This week, we see the PlayStation 3 version of Capcom‘s Sengoku Basara 3 up top, with 243,000 sales. It’s Wii counterpart comes in at 5th place with 50,000 copies sold. Finally, at the bottom you can see the platform breakdown in which the Nintendo DS has the most amount of individual games in the Top 30, with a total of 7.
Sengoku Basara 3 takes 1st and 5th place (for PS3 and Wii, respectively).
