In software sales, the pair of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet claimed the top spot once again and come next week will top Splatoon 3’s total physical sales in Japan. There were two new games that charted, one being Yu-Gi-Oh and the other, Japan’s equivalent of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. “Galaxy Battle” was met with rather low sales of just under 18,000 physical copies sold and around 25,000 total.

Hardware-wise, Nintendo Switch reigned supreme, falling barely 4,000 units from how well it performed last week (though 50,000 less than what it did last year for the same week). PlayStation 5 dropped by 23,000 from its previous week but did close to 26,000 more than last year for the same week. Meanwhile, PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series swapped places and the Nintendo DS had a small bump. Here’s to a few more weeks of big sales. See you next time!
