In an interview over at Famitsu.com, Shigeru Miyamoto had the following tease about a new title coming out from Nintendo:

“We’ll have Mario Kart 8 out next spring, and at that point we’ll have the whole lineup in place, so I think it’s about time we brought out a new franchise. I can’t give out details, but that’s the title that’s been keeping me pretty busy lately.”

What could this new game be? Will it be the start of a new, major, character-driven franchise like Mario? Or could we expect something that’s still a fresh IP, but not necessarily about a specific character…like Nintendogs? Paul Gale Network will definitely be keeping close eyes on this story.
