Hint discussion:
“PlayStation characters of old and new, borrowed and true, Pacific and Eastern, some just terrific…and others you (y)earn.” This applies to the overall cast and not just one particular character.
1) Ratchet & Clank = Lamborghini shortened is Lambo, Ratchet is a Lombax. Yellow and Gray cars facing each other signified Ratchet and Clank’s respective colors. (Props to almost everyone that figured this out…though I already did confirm the duo officially, before Gamescom).
2) Dante = The picture hint I designed for him was never shared online, but I did tell people that one of the Gamescom character reveals in particular would be worth creating its own thread for and that was regarding Dante. Why single him out? Because of the controversy for using the new Dante and not the old one. But this goes with my answer to people all along, saying that PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale embodies PlayStation’s past, present, and future…seeing as how this Dante won’t star in his own game until 2013. I also said that there is a “3rd party hero that has a strong affiliation with the PlayStation brand” and all DMC games have been on Sony’s consoles/is where the series originated. (Dante didn’t get his own picture, but surprisingly enough, some people still guessed him correctly).
3) Sackboy = The picture of a little gun and a big gun, in which the big gun purposely had a string holding it together, represented LittleBigPlanet and Sackboy being made of string. (Great work deciphering this one. I was tempted to place a globe in the picture but thought that it’d have been far too obvious).
4) Spike = I didn’t share the picture I designed for Spike online, but gave a nice picture of me in an Old School t-shirt and wrote beneath it, “The shirt says it all.” Could the shirt also reflect another character? You’ll find out soon.
Finally, regarding unlockable characters in the game…I was told that the whole roster would not be available from the start. If this is being changed, it’s actually new to me. Finally, like how in this article about the original hint for Nathan Drake, I do have other unused hint pictures that I can share if wanted. Thanks to everyone for continuing to follow Paul Gale Network and support SuperBot Entertainment on PlayStation 3’s most ambitious title to date.

I’m not aware of that, but alright…I’ll go ahead and share my “old hints” for the heck of it.
Paul, is there any chance the Superbot team can improve the combat mechanics? I feel as if the mechanics are severely lacking in depth. I looked at some of the command lists for some characters, and the combat mechanics are mainly comprised of a few very short button inputs. For example, Kratos has one ground combo that consists of (Square, Square, Square). That’s it. That’s the only “long” combo he has. Why not give players the ability to mix together various buttons to form longer combo’s?
Like, (Square, Square, Triangle, Triangle,Circle, Square) Something long, and something that won’t feel one dimensional. If you know what I mean. I just want some depth in the combat. I don’t want to be using the same move over and over again. Please. Thank you Paul.
Is the Jet Ski hinting to Crash Bandicoot?
Well the Ratchet one was pretty obvious. The Sackboy hint was spot on Paul, you had people giving all sorts of answers. But the Spike one was far too vague for anyone. It could’ve meant Sir Daniel, Spyro, Cloud or Crash as well. But not too fussed as it was probably a one off lol
So will you be uploading the picture hint you had for Dante? I’d be up for trying to figure out the connection!
Phew! None of those characters were hinted by the jetski picture. There is still hope for Crash Bandicoot. 😛

You said there will be unlockable characters yet Clock said you unlock everyone from the start. Who’s right?
To my understanding, unlockable characters were the direction that SuperBot Entertainment was going…but if now they have changed their minds to make everyone available from the start, then that’s new to me.

Hey Paul, I AM SO HAPPY SACKBOY IS IN! HE LOOKS LIKE A BLAST TO PLAY! quick question: Does Sackboy have a move where he can copy another characters costume and use 1 of their moves other than his level 1 super or is it just for the level 1?

Can you straight up tell us a vague estimation of how many more characters you know beyond the leak if any? It doesn’t ruin anything for superbot just by saying how many more characters you know, and since you said you know the final roster count before DLC….how many more characters do you know of beyond the leak?

Speaking of the Sony Playstation forums, Paul, there is an interesting topic post involving a German web article about a hands-on preview of All-Stars at Gamescom. What is interesting about this article is that Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII is mentioned as a character in All-Stars. So I’m just wondering what you of this.

1) When is the next character reveals?
2) When will we get more hints and how many more?
3) When will we get an answer to the jet ski hint?
1) the hype has kind of died down, can we expect another q/a or random fact article soon?
2) does the preorder just include the 10 costumes or one of each character in the game?
3) any chance crash/spyro where added later in development these characters are very imp to the community and I hope superbot realizes it.
4) can you say anything about themink info being true or false and if there is anything wrong or has changed since he posted it.
5) I am sorry for all these questions I just hyped and very hopeful that I am wrong about the previous mentioned characters not being in the game.

Any new hints leading up to PAX next weekend? I’d love some new details on the story mode of the game, and of course some new reveals especially with numerous anniversaries of certain characters occurring at the same time as PAX. But whatever you feel is necessary! Please, I thank you for all you have been able to provide us on the game! I truly appreciate it. Your tidbits have truly got me excited for this game!

New Info
So i spoke to my source again.
First thing he said was a clarification.
Lightning De-confirmed.
As a matter of fact, no Square Enix reps at all. None. The only thing SE is an item apparently. Which boils my blood haha.
Additionally, all the characters we already know about (including the leaked) is the full roster that comes with the game. (im hoping this is ends up being untrue)
However. I happen to know two DLC characters.
The only bummer for you (not to go all paul gale on you guys haha) is that he said that they are “super secret” and doesnt want them leaked.
The first one was already half leaked already so that was/will be no surprise.
But i will say that as for the second, you guys are going to freak the hell out.

Could you please tell us if there are more than 20 characters in the initial game? There was a guy that said the “20+” characters includes DLC and that the game comes with a 20 character roster.
