When we learned of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD’s existence several months ago, what we saw was our favorite levels of old, beautifully transformed with high polygon models and displayed in HD. What we heard, however…where the wheels turning and the board grinding. Right, no music! Due to licensing issues aplenty, it wasn’t known for a good while what songs (if any) from the classic THPS games would make a comeback.
Fortunately, SoundAndVisionMag.com just had a great interview with the team at Robomodo and they’ve provided us with the game’s new track.
Classic tracks:
Bring the Noise – Anthrax featuring Chuck D
Superman – Goldfinger
When Worlds Collide – Powerman 5000
Heavy Metal Winner – Consumed
May 16 – Lagwagon
No Cigar – Millencolin
You – Bad Religion
New tracks:
The Bomb – Pigeon John
We the People – Lateef the Truthspeaker
Marathon Mansion! – Pegasuses-XL
Teenage Blood – Apex Manor
Please Ask for Help – Telekinesis
Flyentology (Cassettes Won’t Listen Remix) – El-P featuring Trent Reznor
USA – Middle Class Rut
Now in the article’s header, I singled out Goldfinger’s Superman, because that song happens to be one of my favorites of all time and when I think “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater”, that’s instantly what comes to mind. Given the circumstances, I’m satisfied with the list of old meets new and given that the game will only cost $15 on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (no Wii U announcement yet), Activision has its first sale right here.
