GeekWire.com just put up a story, compiling the sales data from around the world for the three consoles and their respective performances in 2011 and shared the results with us:
Xbox 360: 14.9 million
PlayStation 3: 14.1 million
Wii: 10.33 million
As for lifetime sales data:
Wii: 95 million
Xbox 360: 66 million
PlayStation 3: 62 million
2012 will be an exciting year because sometime this summer, Wii will cross the 100 million mark and we’ll get one brand new console in the form of Wii U. Will Nintendo’s 6th console be able to succeed as well as the Wii did? Here’s to the great video game war continuing!
