Today Nintendo aired Iwata’s “Nintendo Direct” segment and with it came a good amount of 3DS related news:

– Resident Evil: Revelations, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, Theatrhytm: Final Fantasy, and Rhythm Thief & The Emperor’s Treasure will receive playable demos on the 3DS within the next 24 hours (in Japan only for now).

-Kid Icarus: Uprising is now confirmed to have 3 on 3 online multiplayer in addition to local play.  The game will see release in the US and Europe in March, 2012 and is nearing completion at this time.

– Fire Emblem: Kakuse for 3DS will support 2 player online co-operative play, which is a first for the series.  It’s also going to be the first Nintendo first party game to feature paid DLC.

What I’m looking forward to in the immediate future is for NOA to start releasing downloadable demos of retails games for 3DS.  I haven’t played Resident Evil: Revelations since E3 and I’m eager to try out the newest build.  When playing these demos becomes an option for those outside of Japan, you’ll hear it on PGN.
