Today started off sad with the unfortunate news that Bill Kunkel, one of the video game industry’s pioneer journalists, passed away with what doctors believe to be a heart attack. Bill was one of the co-founders of Electronic Games, wrote in the comic book industry for both Marvel and DC, and had an early career in shooting photographs of professional wrestlers for Main Event magazine.

He was certainly a very nice man and it was a pleasure getting to know him and call him a friend. For his wife Laurie, extended family, and friends, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Rest in peace, Bill, and thank you for being one of the first in this biz. After all, it’s what I love doing now and know how much you cared for it. Here’s to you, sir.
