This morning Paul Gale Network reported that IGN and GameStop have joined forces and now some of the questions gamers had have been answered.

1) IGN will create branded media advertising products on GameStop.com and will be its sales representative in the online market. Consumer advertisers will be able to buy these branded ads on GameStop.

2) IGN’s content will appear heavily on GameStop.com. Expect plenty of cross-linking. There will be a great amount of buttons for e-commerce on IGN.com as well.

3) GameStop will be buying its own ads on IGN.com.

4) The two sites’ traffic will officially be combined. GameStop has around 7.2 million unique hits and IGN a whopping 28.9 million.

5) The deal will greatly benefit both companies as each will cater to a bigger market than before.

6) IGN Social (IGN’s Facebook of sorts) will still continue.

7) Paul Gale Network is still its own entity throughout all of this so don’t worry. 😉

One of the final questions that’s not yet known: Any change to Game Informer? This one is still up in the air. I could imagine a crossover of GI and IGN editors, but I don’t think it’ll happen…at least not for a while. When I get the scoop you’ll hear about it.
