The Nintendo World Store in New York as you use to know it.
The Nintendo World Store in New York is quite the place for video game fans to visit if you’re looking for anything Nintendo related. Whether it’s Nintendo history, clothing, actual games, autograph signings with Shigeru Miyamoto, or launch parties for big titles…it’s worth checking out. For the next couple of weeks though, it’s going to be closed, but fear not for it will be back better than ever on November 1st. Here’s the official press release below:
The Nintendo® World store in New York will close its doors for a few weeks to undergo renovations. The two-story, 10,000-square-foot Rockefeller Plaza store will shut down at 8 p.m. on Oct. 13 and reopen at 9 a.m. on Nov. 1. Then on Nov. 7, the store will host a daylong grand re-opening celebration event for consumers.
Some features of the remodel will include:
Expansion of the Nintendo Showcase to twice its original size. The showcase will feature Nintendo products and artifacts in a visually impressive way.
New floors and new lighting.
New interactive stations for Nintendo DSi™ and Nintendo DSi XL™.
New graphics throughout the store.
Nintendo World opened its doors in May 2005. Since then it has hosted numerous events to launch video games and systems of all kind. Nearly 4 million people have passed through its doors to sample new and upcoming games, shop for fun Nintendo items or just share their love of Nintendo with other fans. Nintendo World has become a must-see tourist destination for video game fans of all ages from around the world.
