The Official Nintendo Magazine

In a new interview with Mr. Eiji Aonuma inside of The Official Nintendo Magazine, he had the following to say regarding the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword’s storyline-relationship to Ocarina of Time and more about Zelda’s master timeline.

So...The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword takes place

“Yes there is a master timeline but its confidential document! The only people to have access to that document are myself, Mr. Miyamoto and the director of the title. We cant share it with anyone else! I have already talked to Mr. Miyamoto about this so I am comfortable in releasing this information – this title [Skyward Sword] takes place before Ocarina of Time. if I said that a certain title was ‘the first Zelda game’, then that means that we cant ever make a title that takes place before that! So for us to add titles to the series, we have to have a way of putting the titles before or after each other.” – Eiji Aonuma

I found this piece of news very interesting and am glad that at least Nintendo themselves has an overall, grand storyline for the Legend of Zelda series. I’m really looking forward to this Wii mega-title when it arrives sometime early 2011.

  1. The Legend of Zelda: The Skyward Sword will be a great title for the Wii, especially with the Motion Plus. It’s a title that appeals to casual and hardcore gamers. I’m not to familiar with the Legend of Zelda series (don’t hate me for it >.<). But I'm still excited for this game and will sell like crazy.

    1. Oh no doubt about it that Skyward Sword will be a big seller. Twilight Princess sold very well and for the most part, each Zelda game usually does very well in this department. I’m looking forward to seeing just how well implemented is the Motion Plus in this game. I played it at E3 and found the sword and other movements that utilized the device, quite accurate, so from an early impression, it’s looking great. Here’s to more info in the coming months.
