Wow was this a week! Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet jumped an impressive 44%, Splatoon 3, 76%, and seven others in the Top 10 also saw increases (only Dragon Quest dipped). Some notable milestones include Scarlet and Violet topping 4 million physical and Mario Kart 8 surpassing 5 million.

In terms of hardware, PlayStation 5 was pretty consistent with how it performed last week and managed to top 1.15 million for the year in Japan. Nintendo Switch reached 4.8 million, but as mentioned last week, I will provide a more accurate number for the actual calendar year of 2022, next week. Solid way to “end” the year. See you next time!
