Nintendo just had its Nintendo Direct Pre E3 2012 video and it revealed quite a bit, but why don’t you just sit back and watch for yourself?

As you just saw, it looks like the Wii U will come in both white and black, but whether or not both will be available day one is to be determined. We also know now for fact that the left little square on the now-named Wii U GamePad is indeed for NFC (Near Field Communication). Nintendo also introduced us to the Miiverse (short for Mii Universe) and went in a little about how their online strategy will work, connecting people and their games better than on any past system from the company.

New too was the Wii U Pro Controller, which was shown only in black, but looked pretty tight, if not a bit similar to an Xbox 360 controller…though with the most obvious change being the right analog stick and four face buttons being swapped. Getting to see a glimpse of Mario Wii U or New Super Mario Bros. Mii and a little Zombie demo was also fun.

Finally, U for Unique. Nintendo is unique, I’ll give them that. Man, here’s to E3 week which begins tomorrow and Nintendo’s show on Tuesday (as well as the floor days of the event officially starting)!!!
