Japanese Yen on Paul Gale Network
1000 Yen

The earthquake that struck Japan several weeks ago, as well as the countless amounts of aftershocks since, have really hurt the country. With being a source for many things, the video game industry was effected as well. In a recent interview at Sankei.jp.msn.com with Mr. Hirokazu Hamamura (Enterbrain CEO), he shared that the earthquake caused approximately 7.3 billion yen (or 90 million dollars) in lost sales for both software and hardware. This figure primarily represents the Japanese gaming industry, but as you know…most things are connected some way or another.

He did go on to state that the delayed titles would be shifted over to a new quarter, entering the first of the next fiscal year, and hopefully boost Japan’s gaming industry when it happens. I wish the whole industry and Japan’s people the best in the coming months.
