For my sixth video game themed pumpkin, I carved out Mario holding a Koopa shell. The particular style I was going for was from the re-release of the classic Super Mario Bros. 3 NES game, on the Game Boy Advance, titled “Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3” and it was a really cool looking piece in the night, when lit up.

On the back of the pumpkin (which you can barely make on the left side of the picture), I carved out Super Mario. I’ll tell you this, kids didn’t need to see the back to know that the pumpkin was of the world’s most popular plumber. Everyone loves Mario and so I was happy in 2003 to share my talent by creating a jack-o-lantern with such universal appeal.
