This October 17th, Nintendo and Good Feel are bringing us Kirby’s Epic Yarn, a cool, new take on Kirby games where our pink marshmallow-like puffball of a friend is transported into a world where everything is made out of cloth, denim, yarn, and other such material, in which gone are his powers of sucking up enemies, absorbing their abilities, and using them…and in place comes the power of using the “Epic Yarn” to manipulate his enviroment in clever ways.

Kirby’s Epic Yarn is definitely a unique offering from Nintendo.

The new trailer shows off Kirby going through his adventure both solo and with a friend (who is played in co-op). Watch Kirby interact with his environment in fresh ways, brought to you in a very clever and original art style. The video is in Japanese, but you don’t need to understand the language to appreciate the cool gameplay.

One of Kirby’s power ups allows him to get huge. Think of Mega Mario in New Super Mario Bros. meets the tank from Metal Slug.
