Here is a look at the new, live action Metroid: Other M commercial, as well as a few blasts from the past…including Metroid Prime, Metroid Fusion, and Metroid 2: Echoes (from Germany). All four are live action based, but in my opinion, Nintendo really outdid themselves with their most recent effort.

They did such a good job with this one that it really makes me wish that they would hook up with a film director and company that would work hand in hand with them and create the ultimate sci-fi film. The Metroid franchise has the cool factor, it has a sexy heroine, and it now has more story than ever. When you factor these in together, it seems like an eventual movie would make quite a bit of sense. For now though, enjoy the following commercials:

Metroid: Other M‘s commercial is superb.

You see a lot of story behind Other M’s commercial. It starts off with Zero Suit Samus walking down a battlfield, takes a turn at her reminiscing about her time with her former squad (which is a scene straight out of the game), and ends with some great gameplay segments. Watching this commercial once again, really makes me wish that a talented studio worked with Nintendo to create a live action Metroid movie.

You don’t need to understand what’s going onMetroid Prime: 2 Echoes‘ German commercial; it’s simple but cool.

Metriod Prime 2: Echoes’ German commercial focuses more on Samus the human becoming Samus the heroine, as pieces of her armor attach to her in a cool manner. It still holds up despite being several years old.

Metroid Fusion has the most action packed baddy encounter.

Metroid Fusion for Game Boy Advance had a cool live action commercial that was almost a follow up to 2001’s Metroid Prime piece. This was the first time I really wanted to see Metroid go to theaters in a full on film and it was fitting that Nintendo marketed the game in movie theaters. In fact, I own the action commercial real for movie projectors of Metroid Prime.

Nintendo has a thing with making Metroid commercials awesome.
