Peter Molyneux was born on May 5, 1959 in Guildford, Surrey, UK and is best known for being the creator of Dungeon Keeper, Populous, Black & White, and Fable.<\/p>\n

Peter is one of the most creative developers in the video game industry, so it’s rightfully so that he’s been a recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Game Developers Choice Awards, a BAFTA Fellowship, and many more.<\/p>\n

I was first introduced to Mr. Molyneux at E3 2006 by my longtime friend from Microsoft, Ken Lobb. Ken and I were talking about the show in Nintendo’s booth (ironically) and when I brought up Fable to make a comparison to something in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Ken told me that he’d like to introduce me to Peter. It was really a pleasure meeting Peter and he was awfully interested to get my thoughts on Fable.<\/p>\n

In all honesty, I told him, it’s understandable that one of the most difficult things in developing a game (as I imagine) is probably knowing when to stop. I said that on the one hand, you can prolong a game’s development indefinitely to satisfy all the ideas you wanted to incorporate, but doing so wouldn’t be practical business. Instead, finding a moment in which you believe you’re as close to perfection as possible and making that game gold…it’s all we as gamers can really want.<\/p>\n

I’ll never forget Peter’s reaction of, “wow…thank you”. I could tell that he’s as passionate as they come in the video game industry and only wants to do Lionhead Studios (his studio) and Microsoft Game Studios, proud. I know that as Creative Director of MGS, Europe, he’ll continue to do good work. Peter, thanks my friend for always being available for a quick chat no matter how busy you get.
