Whenever new technology comes out, it doesn’t take long before talented people out there find ways to enhance it or come up with cool alternative uses altogether. With Kinect being available for a mere two weeks, it’s time for Microsoft’s toy to shine and bring the world that much closer to “the future”.<\/p>\n

What you’re about to see is the Xbox 360’s Kinect, placed on top of a mobile robotic device, and then be directed to do tasks by visual commands from a human. We also get a look at what the robot sees in its 3D space thank to the Kinect’s camera. This is science fiction turned science fact. It’s an early look into the future…and when I say that, I’m referring to one John Connor and the Terminator franchise! See for yourself.<\/p>\n

Ok, so it still might be some time before we have to fear for our lives because our Kinects have attached themselves to weapons like the Dawson’s Creek Trapper Keeper did in South Park, but it’s certainly impressive nonetheless, to see Microsoft’s new technology be used in a clever way besides gaming.
