Hello and welcome to the Paul Gale Network.  Before I get into what my website is about, I’ll tell you a little about me.  I’m a 28 year old, martial artist, video gamer, personal trainer, artist, actor, and voice actor who is bringing together my different passions into one fun and useful website.

In the martial arts world, I’ve been training in various styles since I was 4 years old, have competed in three world tournaments, representing United States each time, and am currently going for my 2nd degree black belt in Shotokan Karate, this June.  My martial arts knowledge goes from beginning to now, like this: Grapple Wrestling, Tae Kwon Do, Mool Soo Do, Kung Fu Self Defense, Boxing, Kickboxing, Amateur Wrestling, Jiu Jitsu, Tai Chi Chuan, Wai Chi, Personal Defense, and Shotokan Karate.  In addition to these styles that I am most familiar with, I have experimented with several others, to better help my overall body’s understanding of how to fight and defend.

On the video game side of things, I currently write for Bitmob.com and continue to contribute to 1up.com, have helped with Electronic Gaming Monthly and Gamers.com in the past, have been in several video game magazines, websites, and TV shows (such as Nintendo Power, GoNintendo.com, Capcom-Unity.com, X-Play and Judgment Day, respectively), and have even been made into a character in Street Fighter IV.  The Electronic Entertainment Exposition, also known as E3, is a place I have frequented for what 2010 will be my 9th time (the first was back in 2000).  And speaking of E3, thanks to it and other similar events over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting dozens of awesome people in the industry.  We share not just stories, but many pictures, and all of them will be available on the site, as well as information about each person, as a way to socially connect everyone.  One time for instance, I brought my friends Charles Martinet and Tommy Tallarico together at an E3, and introduced the idea of Charles doing his Mario voice at Tommy’s Video Games Live event.  Such team-ups would be fun to see and I’m sure that having such a big pool of talent in one place would bring forth all sorts of possibilities.
Last but not least, I have a couple of intellectual properties that have gained interest in the publishing/development community and will possibly see the light of day in the future.  Now, if you are a developer or publisher that is interested in acquiring one of my proposals, I can supply you with the concept.

As a personal trainer, I’ve been helping people improve their lifestyle, both from a physical standpoint and a health and nutrition one, since 2007.  I graduated from California State University of Northridge, in June of 2006, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology (the study of the human body and its movement) and had an addition emphasis (or minor) in Health and Nutrition.  My clients range greatly in age, race, athletic ability, disabilities, and anything else you can think of, and that’s both men and women, boys and girls.  Before I was a personal trainer, I was a physical therapist, and that has transferred over well into personal training, because I truly make each person’s workout, individualized.  I am also an Eagle Scout, something I earned, along with my Bronze and Gold Palms, when I was 15 years old.  It too has helped me desire to forever stay fit myself and help others.  Health first, functionality second, and looks third.  If you train in this order of importance, you will have them all and always be happy.

I let my artistic side come out through some non-conventional forms of medium.  One way is how I combine my passion for video games and create video game themed pumpkins.  These pieces of work have been coming out once a year since 1998 and have been featured all over the internet, on Bitmob, 1up, GoNintendo, and 4ColorRebellion (to name a few), and some have even won 1st place.  I also enjoy custom designing and then making, t-shirts.  Video games have been the name of the game thus far for my shirts, but there will be plenty of variety to come.

When it comes to acting, I’m officially credited in one movie, Zombies Ate My Prom Date, as a high school student/zombie.  It was definitely no problem acting out as a zombie, as my martial arts background and understanding of kinesiology, helped me quickly get accustomed to acting like I’m getting shot, hit, etc.  I was very involved in the fight choreography, too.  With voice acting, I have done bits with Charles Martinet (the voice of Nintendo’s Mario) and David Hayter (Solid Snake from Metal Gear), and have a wide variety of character imitations and original efforts.  One of my original voices that became popular, was as the voice of Francis the Iguana, in Nintendo’s Super Paper Mario for Wii.  The game itself didn’t have voice acting for the character, but my YouTube video sure made people wish that the game had voice acting and that I would have supplied that character, his voice.

Now that you know a little about me, what is this site going to do for you?  Well the first thing I said was that it’d be both fun and useful.  The fun comes from reading my opinions on different video games, of past, present, and future, as well as covering news stories that go on every day in the video game world.  I hope to bring my views to you in a clear, real manner that makes for an enjoyable read.  I also aim to bring you the latest news across the industry, each week, from the small things, to the big.

The fun doesn’t stop there, however, as t-shirt making will become a fairly regular thing that goes on, on this site.  You too, will have the opportunity to put in a request as to what kind of shirt you’d like to see me make.  You’ll even get the chance down the road to have me custom make one for you.  If you’re a video game developer, website owner, company president, etc., and would like to run a contest on your site for instance, where one of the main prizes is a custom made t-shirt that lets the winner of the contest get her or her name on it, your company logo, and as a real treat, allow them to choose what they want from your company’s backlog of franchises, to be on the shirt, there will be a PayPal setup for you.

If you are such a developer, website owner, etc., and want to further promote your game, site, and so-on, not only will I blog about your product and make a shirt, but I’ll include pictures and make a YouTube video that I will connect to my site, and do a “commercial explanation” if you will, about your game, site, store, movie, etc.

More promotional opportunities will be available for companies that wish to advertise their products aside from t-shirt wearing, and that’s through large, custom made car magnets.  I drive a bright red 2008 Dodge Charger, and to top it off, I’ve got four blue neon lights installed underneath, and a video game inspired license plate, so trust me when I say, my car gets seen by a lot of people.  If you’re planning a pay per view event and would like some affordable advertising, you can plaster your logo, the event, the pay per per view name, and the game that goes with your event, all over my car, and you’ll know people see it.  Likewise, this strategy could be effective for you if you’d like more traffic to your site or want to boost up some talk about your new movie, video game, CD, store, etc.

When fun translates into useful, is when I will teach you what you need to know, to get fit, defend yourself, and feel better.  I will dig into the martial arts I mentioned earlier and more, and talk about why things are done the way they are, from a complete kinesiological manner.  Why are some roundhouse kicks done with the shin, while others are with the instep of the foot, and some with the ball of the foot?  I will answer that question and get into the pros and cons of each.  In addition to providing you with the words as to why is something done a certain way, I will also create videos to show you in detailed fashion.  Some of the martial arts material may even be full katas (or forms) that act as a direct tutorial to teach you how to do karate for instance.

Personal training tips and health and nutrition advice will work the same way.  If you’re the budget person or time conscious one, that would like to get in better shape in a number of months, weeks, etc., I will be sharing with you, excellent advice on what to do without a whole lot of equipment, money, or time.  It still takes devotion and effort on your part, but at least I can provide you with the motivation for one and the techniques for two, that you just have to follow.

Now, just as important as it is to exercise, it is to watch what you eat.  I will go into various super foods and talk about why they’re so good for you.  I will also tell you in understandable terms, what’s going on with your body when you eat, etc.  And don’t worry, I have handled eating plans for all sorts of people, so I will be able to find something that works for you.

Fun and usefulness start to blend when it comes to my acting and voice acting talents.  I will periodically for your amusement, share my different voices.  The usefulness may come if you’re a talent agent that’s looking for a particular voice.  With acting, that will most likely be reserved for a studio that either needs motion capturing for martial arts moves, background work for a fight scene, or a particular look for a magazine ad, commercial, movie, etc.

Thank you for your time and once again, welcome to the Paul Gale Network.  I hope that there’ll be something here for you and if there’s not, what would you like to see?  Please bear with me in this site’s development, as the biggest step I’m going to make, is the first one in getting it all set up.  Once that’s done however, things will really start to roll in motion.  See you online!
