2011 marks my 14th video game theme pumpkin that I’ve made for Halloween. It’s amazing to me that since I’m now 28, I can officially say that I’ve been creating these things for literally half my life. 🙂 The pumpkin is of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and features Link slashing away with his Master Sword on the front while coming down a hill. On the back, since I like adding stuff, is simply a Triforce.
I hope you all enjoyed my latest addition to my jack-o-lantern family. I chose to go with a simple paint scheme for Link, because of the style of art in Skyward Sword. The inspiration for the model was from Nintendo’s promotional material that’s been around since E3 2010 (of Link slashing downward). For my third consecutive year, in addition to painting the pumpkin, I carved it without using a pen to lay out the artwork, first.

Thank you all for your great support when I put these up. It’s always a joy to share my 2-3 hours of work with you and if you have anything you’d like to share, please do and I’ll help promote it. Also, good job to my girlfriend’s Cheshire cat pumpkin, which is her fourth one. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword comes out this November 20th and is part of Nintendo’s 25th anniversary celebration of the series. Here’s to another 25 years of Zelda games and another 14 years of me carving pumpkins…and eventually both going on forever!
Zelda pumpkin!!!
